Ukraine secures US$1.1 billion for critical budget expenditures, PM says

Ukraine has received US1.1 billion from the International Monetary Fund.
Source Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram This marks the sixth tranche under the joint Extended Fund Facility EFF programme, he said. Quote The funds have already been credited to Ukraines accounts and will be used to cover critical budget expenditures, Shmyhal noted. He also highlighted that Ukraine has so far received US9.8 billion from the IMF as part of this programme.
Background On 21 December, the IMF Executive Board completed the sixth review of the EFF program for Ukraine and approved a new tranche of US1.1 billion.
