Quote: "We don't know exactly what the differences in views are. What is important for us is that thorough work was carried out in Moscow at Vladimir Putin's meeting with the [US negotiators] Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, and then Witkoff and Kushner, on the basis of the results achieved in Moscow, worked with the delegation of Ukrainian negotiators led by [Rustem] Umierov [Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine]. Now it is important for us to understand what the outcomes of this work are."
Details: Peskov added that the sides supposedly now "better understand that such work should be conducted quietly".
Quote: "Such work cannot be done entirely in public. It is unconstructive and the main thing is that it doesn't allow results to be achieved. So we expect to receive such information and then it will be clear."
Background:
- On 4-6 December, Rustem Umierov and Andrii Hnatov, Chief of Ukraine's General Staff, had a meeting in Miami with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

- Axios has reported earlier that the conversation lasted two hours and the discussion of territorial issues was "difficult".
- On 7 December, Zelenskyy announced that Umierov and Hnatov are en route from the United States to Europe, where they will provide him with detailed information on the "nuances the Americans are prepared to modify" in talks with Ukraine and Russia.
