Viktor Shlinchak, chairman of the board of the Institute of World Policy, expressed this opinion on Espreso TV."About Trump's comment that Zelenskyy hadn't looked at his proposed peace plan, I've counted roughly 40 times Donald Trump has expressed disappointment with Putin and Zelenskyy. Honestly, when Trump says he's disappointed with someone today, it usually means he'll call them 'the best guy in the world' tomorrow. So, this latest statement from Trump is likely just his usual way of applying pressure," the political scientist explained. He added that this was pretty much expected, considering Ukraine's situation, especially with limited support from Europe, something Trump has noticed."Ukraine hasn't made the internal changes or built up the strength needed to improve its bargaining power. The truth is, we don't have our own plan to counter Trump's proposal. President Zelenskyy introduced a Victory Plan a year ago, but a year later, there's practically nothing left of it. This shows that Ukraine's current stance isn't clear; we don't have a well-defined strategy. And if we don't have our own strategy, then, frankly, we're not at the negotiating table as equals; we're just being taken advantage of," Shlinchak concluded.U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Moscow allegedly agreed to his proposed plan for settling the war, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not even reviewed the document.
