Diplomat Oleksandr Levchenko stated this on Espreso TV."The 28 points are points that put Ukraine in a catastrophic situation. But, on the other hand, we are working with these points, demonstrating to our American colleagues that we are ready for negotiations. Someone prepared these points – fine, but there is also the position of the Ukrainian side and the position of our European colleagues, who were somehow forgotten when this plan was being formed. So, Ukraine is getting involved, continuing to work with the Europeans and the American side, and is waiting to see what the Russians will say. But it is impossible to reach a peace agreement if Russia is not interested in it, if the Kremlin does not verify the peace treaty. Whether it will verify it – that is the big question," emphasized Levchenko.According to the diplomat, we currently do not see even declarative support for what is written in the UN Charter and all international legal documents regarding territorial sovereignty. Therefore, we are in a very difficult situation because international law is not mentioned at all in these points."We and the Europeans must tell Washington that it is Putin who is to blame for the failure of Trump's initiative, and we expect active measures from the American side, a continuation of the sanctions policy, and the coercion of Russia into peace negotiations," Levchenko added.Major General Serhii Kryvonos noted that Ukraine needs to hold on for another six to eight months, and this timeframe could be quite realistic provided there is continued systemic pressure on the Russian economy.
