Details: The animal had undergone a complex surgery several weeks ago, during which one of its legs was amputated after it was shattered in a collision in the Brovary district.
Quote: "We were happy that she survived the previous attack, as she had not yet fully recovered from the anaesthesia at the time.
But she could not withstand that terrible night filled with explosions and fear, and her little heart stopped."
Details: Volunteers at the centre had hoped the roe deer would recover and adapt to life with three legs.
"We cannot express the depth of despair we feel. It is unbearably painful to lose an animal we tried to save with all our strength but ultimately could not protect," the volunteers said.
Background:
- In September, Russian forces attacked an equestrian club in Kyiv Oblast, killing seven horses.
- On 26 November, around 1,000 pigs were killed in a Russian strike on a farm in Chernihiv Oblast.
