Yevhen Dykyi, a former platoon commander of the Aidar Battalion, stated this on Espreso TV."Previously, the picture held by Western politicians and the reality on the front were polar opposites. But now, we have reached a point where the situation at the front is not as different from the apocalyptic views of Western politicians as we would like," Dykyi noted."Let's be frank: we are currently in the worst situation on the front line since the summer of 2022. It was even worse around June-July 2022, but we haven't faced a situation this bad since then. And, of course, this is what they are exploiting," he emphasized.According to the former commander, every time Ukraine faces a difficult situation on the front, Russia presents it as if they have already won. This is where a manipulation of concepts occurs. We have a very tough situation at the front, and the dynamics have shifted more than once during these four years of war."If you look at the picture of recent months, it seems as if we are currently losing this war. But 'losing,' 'have lost,' or even 'doomed to lose' are intentionally three different forms of the verb. And it is precisely on these verb forms that Russia is playing," Dykyi explained."We are currently losing this war little by little, while they are creating a picture as if we have already lost it. And these 28 points they have presented to us are a classic example. These are the exact terms that are usually imposed on a country that started a war and then lost it.""We did not start this war, and we have not yet lost it. But the Russians are behaving as if this war is already hopelessly lost, as if we have no chance at all, and our only option is for the Kremlin to agree, out of great respect for their friend Donald, to give us these 28 points. By the way, these 28 points were originally written in Russian," Dykyi added.Diplomat Oleh Shamshur stressed that a peace plan is being imposed on Ukraine that would effectively legitimize the Russian occupation, limit state sovereignty, and create new military threats.
