Trump accuses Ukraine of being ungrateful for US peace efforts

US President Donald Trump has accused the Ukrainian authorities of showing no gratitude for America's peace efforts, while criticising Europe for continuing to buy Russian oil.

Details: Trump again claimed that the current war between Russia and Ukraine would never have happened "with strong and proper US and Ukrainian LEADERSHIP".
He also asserted that if the 2020 presidential election had not been "rigged and stolen – the only thing the radical left Democrats are good at doing – there would be no Ukraine/Russia War, as there wasn't, not even a mention, during my first term in Office. Putin would never have attacked!"
The US president added that the war "is a loser for everyone, especially the millions of people that have so needlessly died".
Quote: "UKRAINE 'LEADERSHIP' HAS EXPRESSED ZERO GRATITUDE FOR OUR EFFORTS, AND EUROPE CONTINUES TO BUY OIL FROM RUSSIA."
More details: Trump also wrote that the US continues to supply NATO with "massive $amounts" of weapons, which are then being sent to Ukraine.
Trump's comment appeared amid ongoing talks in Geneva on the "peace plan" proposed by the United States.
Background:
- Following reports from the Ukrainian team at the Geneva talks, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the US proposals may incorporate a number of elements reflecting Ukrainian perspectives that are vital to its national interests.
- Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (NSDC) and member of Ukraine's delegation at the negotiations in Geneva, has said that the current draft of the "peace plan" already reflects most of Ukraine's key priorities.
