Russian power substations attacked: parts of Kursk Oblast without electricity – photos

Part of Russia's Kursk Oblast has been left without power due to strikes on electrical substations on the night of 19-20 November.
Source : Kursk Oblast Governor Alexander Khinshtein
Quote : "Last night the enemy conducted strikes on electrical substations in the border area. Over 16,000 people in the Glushkovsky, Rylsky and Korenevsky districts have been left without electricity as a result of the attack."
Details : Khinshtein claimed that Rylsk had been connected to backup power sources.
"The consequences are being confirmed and an engineering and bomb disposal check of the areas will be conducted soon," he said.
Why this matters: Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian forces have been striking residential areas and Ukraine's energy infrastructure on a daily basis. Every day, Russian attacks claim the lives of Ukrainians. Hourly power outages are currently in place across Ukraine because of strikes on the energy system.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has conducted strikes only on facilities that supply Russia's war machine – oil depots, military factories, ammunition warehouses and air bases used by Russian bombers.
On 1 November, Robert "Magyar" Brovdi, Commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, said that Ukrainian forces were preparing strikes on Russia that would result in blackouts.
