Quote: "All day today I've been in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, visiting our combat brigades: the 65th Separate Mechanised Brigade, which as part of the 17th Corps defends our state on the Orikhiv front, and also the warriors of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade, defending the areas around Stepnohirsk."
Details: The president said he had discussed with the commanders what is needed to strengthen the defenders' positions and how to provide additional forces to this crucial front.
Zelenskyy also thanked the military for full reports on the local challenges, particularly on the Huliaipole and the Kamianske fronts. He promised to convene a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on Friday dedicated specifically to the defence of Zaporizhzhia and related issues.
"We had a detailed discussion today with Head of [Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military] Administration Ivan Fedorov about the situation in the city and oblast, about the support needed now in Zaporizhzhia – both for people and enterprises. And about defence against attacks, especially the protection of the oblast from Russian assaults. I have already set the tasks for the military, and we will provide more resources for this direction," Zelenskyy said.
