Russian forces have increased the number of assaults on positions of Ukraine's defence forces in the Pokrovsk agglomeration in Donetsk Oblast. The fiercest fighting in Pokrovsk has been taking place in the industrial zone.

Quote: "The 7th Rapid Response Corps of Ukraine's Air Assault Forces is holding its line of defence. Over the past week, Ukrainian troops have killed 236 Russian soldiers, with a further 136 wounded. Our soldiers have also hit a tank, 3 armoured fighting vehicles and 23 vehicles.

The enemy continues to ramp up the assaults on Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk agglomeration. Last week, Russian forces attacked our units 132 times, which is almost 20% more than the week before."

Details: Ukrainian troops are preventing Russian attempts to gain a foothold in Pokrovsk's high-rise buildings, which the Russians want to use as commanding high ground. This enables other defence forces' units to mop up Russian forces inside the city.

Ukrainian forces continue to wipe out Russian troops in the northern part of Pokrovsk. The fiercest clashes are taking place within the industrial zone. The routes that the Russians try to use to infiltrate this area are under Ukrainian control, which leaves Russia with limited options to make up its losses.

The Russians are also trying to concentrate efforts in other districts of the city and on its western outskirts in order to push towards Hryshyne, to the north-west of Pokrovsk. Ukrainian forces are holding them back, in part thanks to a multi-layered system of defence. Logistics in Hryshyne allow Ukrainian troops to carry out their planned tasks.

The defensive operation in Myrnohrad is ongoing. Supplies are being delivered and stocks of food and ammunition are being replenished on time.

Russia is attempting to attack Myrnohrad from the south-east. Ukraine's defence forces are wiping out Russian units on the approaches to the city and are preventing infiltration.
