Russia steps up ballistic strikes on Ukrainian thermal power plants

Some thermal power plants belonging to DTEK, the largest private energy company in Ukraine, in several Ukrainian oblasts, have been attacked in recent days by five to six ballistic missiles.

Quote: "These are no longer Shaheds [Shakhed-type drones – ed.] or cruise missiles. Some of our thermal power plants were attacked by five to six ballistic missiles in the latest strikes."
Details: Sakharuk said that the latest strikes involved a heavy use of ballistic missiles, making the reinforcement of air defences especially important.
Quote: "The recovery of the energy sector depends on how well we can defend ourselves."
Background: Facilities belonging to coal businesses in Donetsk Oblast were damaged as a result of five airstrikes in which the Russians used guided bombs.
