Ukraine's Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal reported the information.A corresponding memorandum was signed by the defense ministers of the JEF member countries. This is the first time in history that a non-member state has received such status. As Shmyhal noted, this became possible thanks to the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.JEF is a defense coalition created by Great Britain in 2015, which includes nine Northern European states: Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway. Ukraine is ready to strengthen JEF's defense potential, particularly through sharing experience in countering hybrid threats, using air defense systems, drones, protecting critical infrastructure, and conducting long-range strikes. It is also planned for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to participate in joint exercises with JEF partners to achieve full interoperability and readiness to act together in crisis conditions.Denys Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine seeks to develop innovative defense partnerships, joint production, and cooperation in the defense industry. At the same time, Kyiv expects partners to provide access to technologies and production capacities for the development of joint arms production. On August 28, Denys Shmyhal stated that over three years of war, Ukraine's defense capabilities have increased 35-fold. Currently, about 900 enterprises and over 1,000 innovative teams are working in this sector.
