General Staff on Pokrovsk: Strike-and-search operations continue to counter Russian infiltration, no encirclement reported

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported on the situation near Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk Oblast. According to the military, defence operations continue, and there is no encirclement of Ukrainian units or formations.

Quote: "Measures are being taken to block the enemy, which is attempting to infiltrate and build up forces in the city of Pokrovsk. Active countermeasures are under way against enemy infantry groups trying to gain a foothold."
Details: The defence forces are conducting strike-and-search operations in Pokrovsk. Assault units of the 425th Assault Regiment, Unmanned Systems Forces operators, combined groups of the Special Operations Forces, the Military Law Enforcement Service, the National Guard and Defence Intelligence are all involved. Units defending the city have been reinforced.
According to the report, over the past day alone, Ukrainian defence forces killed 26 Russian troops and wounded another 64 near Pokrovsk. A total of 58 Russian infantry shelters in the city and its surroundings were destroyed or damaged.
Since the beginning of the week, Russian losses on the Pokrovsk front have taken out 249 Russians (159 of them are irrecoverable losses), 7 UAV command posts, 26 vehicles and motorcycles, 1 tank and 1 armoured fighting vehicle.
"Meanwhile, work continues to strengthen the defensive flanks of the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, as well as to secure and protect logistical routes," the General Staff said.
The Dobropillia operation is also ongoing. According to the General Staff, over the past day, Ukrainian assault units advanced from 100 to 700 metres in certain areas. In total, as of 5 November 2025, 188.9 sq km have been liberated, and 249.9 sq km have been cleared of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

Background: On 3 November, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that nearly one-third of all combat engagements and 50% of the Russians' use of guided bombs (KABs) were concentrated on the Pokrovsk front.
