Nevertheless, significant progress has been made during this time — including in developing joint approaches and actions by Ukraine, Europe, and the United States, both in the military and economic spheres, as well as in long-term defense cooperation.First, there is the Ukraine–Europe–U.S. cooperation format in the area of armaments (the PURL system).Second, there is coordination of sanction measures against Russia.Third, there is finally an understanding that ending the hostilities can only be achieved through the approach of “peace through strength.”In this context, strength means a combination of military, economic, and diplomatic factors influencing Russia’s position. Strength also means addressing the immediate needs of responding to Russian aggression while shaping a long-term defense vision.Yes, Ukraine still needs many types of weapons in sufficient quantities. But it is clear that the West has begun to move away from the psychological pressure of Russian blackmail, and the issue of arms supply has now shifted to the realm of practical solutions. The issue of nuclear weapons has clearly reached a global level, where Russian blackmail is no longer acceptable. In this sense, either the Kremlin will eventually agree to genuine negotiations to halt military actions, or it will have to face the reality that Beijing and Washington may find a shared interest and a coordinated approach — one that will further marginalize Russia.SourceAbout the author.
