Ukraine’s air defense destroys 61 out of 80 dronesThe Air Force reported that on the night of November 5, Russian troops launched 80 Shahed, Geran, and other attack drones from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk — about 50 of them were Shaheds.The aerial attack was repelled by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and drone system units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.“According to preliminary data as of 9:00 a.m., air defense shot down and suppressed 61 Russian drones in the north, south, and east of the country. Eighteen strike drones hit seven locations, and debris from downed drones fell in two more,” the Air Force reported.Chernihiv regionHead of the Novhorod-Siverskyi District Military Administration Oleksandr Sileverstov said the city was attacked by drones overnight.“There is significant damage to residential buildings. Unfortunately, there are injuries: a 79-year-old man suffered a concussion and blast injuries, a 77-year-old man sustained multiple head injuries, and a 72-year-old woman suffered multiple head and arm injuries,” Sileverstov wrote.Head of the Chernihiv Regional Administration Vyacheslav Chaus added that local authorities have set up an emergency response headquarters, are recording the damage, and are already assisting the victims.“Everyone whose homes were damaged by the strike will receive building materials for urgent repairs,” Chaus promised.
