Ihor Lutsenko, a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman and co-founder of the Aerial Reconnaissance Support Center, spoke about this on Espreso TV.“Let’s remember examples of towns the Russians took over only after years. Even when they entered the built-up areas, fighting lasted for years — for example, in Toretsk. The fact that even a battalion has entered some residential districts of a hypothetical Pokrovsk now does not mean Pokrovsk is already Russian,” Lutsenko emphasized.According to a Ukrainian serviceman, even if the Russians manage to achieve success in Pokrovsk at some point, it can be prolonged and organised so the enemy pays as high a price as possible for taking those positions they have tried many times to claim as their own.“This trap benefits us when the Russians declare the city ‘ours’ and rush to make it so. Instead, we must apply a loss-ratio concept — 1 to 10, 1 to 20 — losses of that scale will give us a chance to win this war in the long run. If we think otherwise, there is a high risk of reciprocal actions and other active moves by the Russians,” Lutsenko added. In Pokrovsk, the Russian army continues to exert pressure with small groups, utilizing armored and lightly armored vehicles. Most attacks are neutralized, but logistics and movement remain the biggest problem for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
