Aleksei Skabei, the head of the international military cooperation and peacekeeping activities department of the Special Operations Forces Command of the Belarusian Armed Forces, the Belarusian service of Radio Svoboda reports."Participation in such events for our republic is, first and foremost, raising our flag. Raising our flag in a certain country indicates that we are open and committed to the obligations once given at the UN Assembly. We are members of the organization, which says a lot. And participation in the event itself is an experience for us," he said.Skabei emphasized that after an appropriate decision, "we will be ready to move to one region or another to perform tasks." He also added that he had previously participated in peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the UN, but now, according to him, the participation of Belarusian 'peacekeepers' has been suspended."Here, everything depends not only on us. It depends on how the parties make decisions among themselves. The fact that we are ready to provide them with assistance at the request of both sides – we are always ready," Skabei stressed.Earlier, former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson wrote a column in which he appealed to the leaders of the U.S., UK, and EU countries with proposals for urgent measures for further assistance to Ukraine.
