The 7th Rapid Response Corps of Ukraine's Air Assault Forces has said that Ukrainian troops have improved their tactical position in several districts of the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast.

Details: The statement says that as of 15:00 on 1 November, the situation in Pokrovsk remains difficult and dynamic.

Quote: "As a result of successful counter-actions, Ukrainian troops managed to improve the tactical situation in several districts of the city.

We are increasing the number of assault groups in Pokrovsk, using diversified methods of personnel movement. Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops are working on solutions to block the enemy's logistics and then cut it."

Details: The 7th Corps said that Russian forces are being held under fire control and the number of Russian troops killed in Pokrovsk is gradually rising. Over the past week, 85 Russian soldiers have been killed in the city.

In October, in the operational area of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of Ukraine's Air Assault Forces, Ukrainian troops killed a total of 1,320 Russian soldiers and another 646 were "put out of action".

Quote: "The defence forces have carried out a successful non-parachute landing in the area of Pokrovsk. It was a complex operation that required synchronised actions by different components of the defence forces. It was necessary to create all the conditions for the safe flight of the aircraft and the landing of personnel, given the direct threat from the enemy. Air defence, electronic warfare, electronic intelligence and unmanned systems units were deployed in the operational area of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of Ukraine's Air Assault Forces to ensure the mission was accomplished."

Background:

• Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said earlier on 1 November that there has been no encirclement or blockade of the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk Oblast. He has also said that a complex operation to kill and push back Russian forces in Pokrovsk is ongoing involving, among others, Special Operations Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine and Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU).
• Reuters has reported citing its sources that special forces from Defence Intelligence of Ukraine were deployed to Pokrovsk at the beginning of this week amid intensified fighting, with the aim of stabilising the situation.
• Reuters also reported, citing its source, that the operation was led by DIU Head Kyrylo Budanov.
• A source told Ukrainska Pravda that DIU is conducting stabilisation measures in Pokrovsk.
