They want the Americans to give up Taiwan. This means ending U.S. military aid to Taipei and stopping the informal defense pact between Taipei and Washington, which includes mutual assistance. Under this pact, the U.S. not only supplies weapons but guarantees Taiwan’s security and sovereignty: if it is attacked, the U.S. must intervene militarily to prevent its destruction, occupation, or reintegration into mainland China,” Feygin explained.He stressed that the United States cannot and will not stop supporting Taiwan — something even President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated.“Beijing is precisely seeking this, and that’s what Washington cannot concede. Senator Rubio, ahead of Trump’s visit to Malaysia, also said the U.S. would not halt its support for Taiwan.
