Reuters reported the information.Anuj Jain, head of finance at IOC, said his company “will continue to buy Russian oil if the barrels are in compliance with sanctions.”According to trading sources, IOC purchased about 3.5 million barrels of Russian ESPO crude at prices roughly equal to Dubai benchmarks. The shipments are expected to arrive at an eastern Indian port in December.Jain stressed that IOC is acting in full compliance with international regulations. He also noted that IOC had already canceled seven or eight shipments of Russian oil after the latest U.S. sanctions were announced, as those supplies came from blacklisted subsidiaries.Last week, on October 22, Washington imposed sanctions on Rosneft and Lukoil, Russia’s two largest oil companies, in an effort to intensify pressure on the Kremlin over its war against Ukraine.
