This was announced by Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation. The funds will be used to strengthen the cyber infrastructure of government institutions, purchase software and hardware for state agencies and critical infrastructure, and support the investigation and mitigation of cyberattacks.Part of the funding will also go toward projects under the Tallinn Mechanism — an international initiative that unites 13 partner countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, the United States, Poland, France, and Sweden.Valeria Ionan, Advisor to the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine on Innovation, Digitalization, and Global Partnerships, emphasized that this support reflects the international community’s trust in Ukraine and recognition of its vital role in ensuring Europe’s digital security.“In the context of the most technologically advanced war of our time, support from our partners in the field of cybersecurity is a clear sign of trust and strategic partnership. It strengthens our ability to protect critical infrastructure and ensure the resilience of digital systems,” she said. The Ministry of Digital Transformation noted that, through the UCP program, Ukraine is already receiving assistance to counter Russian cyberattacks, identify attackers, and strengthen the protection of government and energy networks. On October 19, it was reported that a hacker group linked to Russian leader Vladimir Putin had breached the systems of Dodd Group, a contractor for the UK Ministry of Defence, compromising eight military facilities.
