Bild has cited Serhii Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine, who said that the Russians will not stop and urged everyone to keep energy use to a minimum.
Bild explains that, in the event of a grid collapse, Ukraine faces a cold catastrophe. They cited unnamed officials in Kyiv who said that "the coming winter will be the hardest [yet]".
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has called on Western allies to support Ukraine. German Economy Minister Katherina Reiche aims to continue topping up the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. Germany's contribution stands at €390 million and a further €60 million is earmarked.
