Military expert and co-chair of the civic initiative Prava Sprava, Dmytro Sniehyriov, said this on Espreso TV.“Pokrovsk agglomeration includes not only Pokrovsk itself but also Myrnohrad and Dobropillia — major industrial towns. Right now, the occupiers are trying to form several so-called small pockets — around Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad — and are attempting to restrain Ukraine’s counteroffensive near Dobropillia. So we’re talking about several sections of the front. The tactic of small encirclements is used even inside Pokrovsk itself. Fighting is ongoing right in the city center, near the railway station, and around School No. 2, while the enemy seeks to push toward the industrial zone,” he said.Sniehyriov also described the situation in Myrnohrad, noting a buildup of small assault groups near the 5/6 mine area.“The information about Myrnohrad is contradictory — some reports say they entered, others say they didn’t. What’s verified is that there’s a Russian-controlled area near the 5/6 mine. Small assault groups are concentrated there, and administrative buildings are being used as bases for UAV operators. As for Rodynske — it’s a key point of Ukraine’s defense. That’s why the fighting is so fierce: an asphalt road — the only one — runs past Rodynske, making it a strategic location for the Defense Forces. Russian troops managed to gain a foothold near a kindergarten in Rodynske, but Ukrainian forces are carrying out counter-sabotage operations to eliminate these assault units. The enemy’s main attacks are on the flanks of Ukrainian positions — near Rodynske and the village of Volodymyrivka. From Volodymyrivka, they’re trying to advance toward Hryshyne, another important Defense Forces position,” the military expert explained.
