US intelligence agencies see no signs that Russia is ready to compromise over Ukraine, while Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is reportedly more determined than ever to continue the war.

Details: A senior US official and a senior congressional official said that a recent US intelligence report suggests that Putin is more determined than before to continue the war in Ukraine and achieve victory on the battlefield.

The findings, presented to members of Congress earlier this month, indicate that intelligence agencies see no evidence of Russia's willingness to seek a compromise regarding Ukraine.

Two other sources familiar with the matter said the assessment aligns with how US and Western intelligence services have viewed the Russian regime's stance since February 2022.

However, the sources added that Putin is now believed to be adopting a more aggressive position than ever before.

The White House declined to comment on the report, referring instead to Trump's public remarks about a potential peace deal.

"As the president stated, these are tremendous sanctions against their two big oil companies which he hopes will help bring about the end of the war," the official said.
