Espreso correspondent reported the information."Who will the 19th package of sanctions hit? In fact, this package is truly one of the most powerful ones yet. First and foremost, these sanctions target Russia's energy sector. A very important point is the complete ban on the import of liquefied natural gas from Russia into the EU by January 1, 2027, meaning there is almost a year left. Previously, the European Commission planned to do this from January 1, 2028, so the sanctions were introduced a whole year earlier. Also, 117 vessels of Russia's shadow fleet will be added to the sanctions package - another major blow to Russia. Now, 558 vessels are included in this package," commented the correspondent.According to her, a significant point is the restriction on the activities of Russian diplomats within the EU, specifically limiting their right to travel. Now, any Russian diplomat working in a particular European country must notify the foreign ministry of the country they will be passing through or traveling to, whether for a visit or transit. In this way, the EU will combat Russian spies working under diplomatic cover. Russian diplomats will no longer be able to move freely within the EU. Furthermore, important sanctions have been introduced in the financial and trade sectors, namely restrictions on additional Russian banks, the Mir payment system, and cryptocurrencies. Now, all cryptocurrencies belonging to Russian individuals and legal entities are banned from use within the EU. Sanctions were also imposed on companies that helped circumvent previous sanctions, including 12 Chinese companies, which is also very interesting. This is a powerful package that will cause a lot of damage to the Russian economy, which is only beneficial for Ukraine," Vysotska summarized. On October 23, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, announced that the European Union had finally approved the 19th package of economic and individual sanctions against Russia through a written procedure.
