Ukraine’s Air Force reported missile and drone movements.Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk said Russian forces struck energy infrastructure throughout the night of October 22.Ukraine’s largest energy company DTEK announced emergency power outages in Kyiv and its region, and Dnipropetrovsk region. Power issues were also reported in Sumy, Poltava, and other regions.Attack on Kyiv and regionIn the Kyiv region, a woman born in 1987, a 12-year-old girl, and a 6-month-old baby were killed.“The terrorist state killed a young woman born in 1987, a six-month-old baby, and a 12-year-old girl in the village of Pohreby, Brovary district. Their bodies were found at the site of a house fire,” said Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Administration.According to the latest information, two people were killed in the capital. Thirteen people were injured, including four children.“In the Pecherskyi district, debris fell on the roof of a three-story residential building, causing a fire and partial destruction of the second and third floors. One injured person has been hospitalized,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported at 7:48 a.m.At 6:52 a.m., Klitschko reported debris hitting a garage area in the Solomianskyi district. In the Darnytskyi district, debris hit a non-residential building, injuring a woman who is receiving medical aid at the scene.Damage as of 6:40 a.m.:Dniprovskiy districtDrone debris hit the 6th floor of a 16-story residential building, causing a fire. One person died, 10 were rescued.Debris fell in a courtyard, no fire reported.Blast wave damaged windows of another residential building.Pecherskyi districtMissile debris fell and caused a fire, which has since been extinguished.Darnytskyi districtDrone debris hit an industrial site, igniting a two-story building and a hangar.Debris hit a 17-story residential building, sparking a fire on the 14th–15th floors.Drone debris also struck a dormitory building; emergency services are on site.The attack on Kyiv began around 1 a.m. and continued until morning. At 1:13 a.m., Mayor Klitschko reported explosions in the capital as air defense systems engaged.Damage to railway infrastructureAccording to Ukraine’s state railway company Ukrzaliznytsia, the massive attack caused infrastructure damage and power outages on several sections, leading to train delays and route changes.“In particular, train No. 43/44 Ivano-Frankivsk–Cherkasy, already en route, is changing its route within the Kyiv region. The estimated delay is up to two hours. Train No. 793/794 Cherkasy–Kyiv will also take a modified route, with about an hour’s delay,” the company reported.Passengers are advised to follow official Ukrzaliznytsia updates. Delays and route changes for suburban trains are also possible.Attack on Poltava regionDue to direct Russian strikes and falling debris overnight, oil and gas industry facilities were damaged in the Myrhorod district of the Poltava region. No casualties were reported, said regional head Volodymyr Kohut.Strike on ZaporizhzhiaAt 1:10 a.m., head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov reported explosions in the region.Later, it was confirmed that Russian forces had struck Zaporizhzhia, targeting infrastructure. No casualties were initially reported.As of 2:02 a.m., information emerged that multi-story residential buildings were damaged in one of the city’s districts.At 4:27 a.m., Fedorov reported that five women were injured in the Russian attack — the youngest aged 21, the oldest 62.“They sustained shrapnel wounds and carbon monoxide poisoning. All are receiving the necessary medical care,” he added.By morning, Fedorov confirmed that the number of injured had risen to 13.
