Svyrydenko announced the meeting on Telegram, noting that the talks continued the “constructive Ukrainian-Slovak dialogue and cooperation at a practical level.”She said that the main topics of discussion included increasing pressure on Russia to end the war, protecting critical infrastructure, and strengthening European unity — which she described as “a vital necessity, not just political slogans.”According to European Pravda, Prime Minister Robert Fico expressed support for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.“If your country has made a decision and believes that your future lies in the European Union, then we also believe that your membership in the EU will support stability in the region and give new impetus to our bilateral relations,” Fico said.He added that Ukraine’s EU membership would deepen cooperation between Bratislava and Kyiv, while acknowledging that the two countries hold differing views regarding Ukraine’s potential membership in NATO.Fico and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last met in Uzhhorod on September 5.
