Allies pledge new drones, funding, weapons for Ukraine in latest Ramstein talks

Ukraine's Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal reported the information.In total, more than half of the NATO member states have already made or declared contributions to the PURL initiative, amounting to at least 422 million dollars.Additionally, new procurements from the Ukrainian defense industry worth 715 million dollars were agreed upon. These include support for UAVs, electronic warfare systems, and explosives from Norway; strike and reconnaissance drones from the Netherlands; interceptor drones from Canada; and financial assistance from Iceland under the Danish model.Furthermore, the allies agreed on new military aid packages: Sweden is allocating 8 billion dollars for security support to Ukraine in 2026–2027, the Czech Republic – 72 million, Canada – 20 million for winter equipment and missile components, Portugal – 12 million to the British IFU arms procurement fund, and Finland is preparing its 13th aid package.The president of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the UK Secretary of State for Defence, John Healey, German Minister of Defence, Boris Pistorius, NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, U.S. Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, and all member countries of the Ramstein format for their support and contribution to saving lives and bringing about a lasting peace.On October 15, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that following the latest Ramstein meeting, Ukraine received new contributions for arms procurement under the PURL initiatives, signed a memorandum on defense cooperation with Germany, and agreed on military training in Poland.
