Ihor Lapin, special forces officer and former Ukrainian MP, shared the information on Espreso TV.“At present, the most intense fighting is in the Pokrovsk direction, given that over 100,000 Russian forces are concentrated around and near Pokrovsk. This makes it the toughest sector today. Putin’s goal to fully occupy Donetsk region has not gone away,” Lapin noted.According to the Ukrainian officer, Russian forces currently control almost all access roads and internal streets of the Pokrovsk agglomeration with fire. Russian forces have effectively encircled the city, severely disrupting logistics.“After the Russians captured relevant settlements in the southern part, including Udachne, they essentially gained the ability to cut the Dnipro–Pokrovsk route,” Lapin emphasized. The special forces officer added that logistics for civilian evacuation, medical evacuation, troop rotations, and volunteer routes have now become significantly more difficult.“In the western part of the city, Russian invaders have taken several fortifications under fire today. On the southern flank, Ukrainian units are acting firmly, but it must be acknowledged that Russia’s advantage in manpower, equipment, and especially in the air, with Russian aviation dominating and guided bombs actively used, causes us significant problems,” Lapin said.On October 14, 182 battles were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian frontline. Russian troops were most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where 69 clashes took place.
