A senior Alliance representative told journalists at a NATO headquarters briefing, speaking on condition of anonymity, that they are refraining from assessing the conditions required for delivery, what must be done for it to happen, and what targets could be struck. But overall, they will strengthen Ukraine and will certainly have an impact by complementing Ukraine’s long-range capabilities, he stressed. The NATO representative also praised the achievements of Ukraine’s forces in conducting long-range strikes, mentioning strike drones and "a new cruise missile" that is also successfully used for long-distance strikes. He did not specify which missile he was referring to. Tomahawk missiles will "increase potential and expand capabilities," but they will only complement what Ukraine has already achieved, he explained. The NATO official also expressed strong skepticism about a possible Russian response, despite aggressive statements coming from Moscow.“As for a response to Tomahawks, I don’t think we will necessarily see new weapons. I think the response will be a continuation of the rhetoric we already see, sometimes irresponsible rhetoric that includes rattling nuclear weapons,” the top Alliance official said. “But I don’t think there is any specific or unpredictable action that Russia could take.”On October 13, U.S. President Donald Trump said he might provide Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles if Russian leader Vladimir Putin does not stop the war.At the same time, Dmitry Medvedev insulted Trump and threatened a response to the supply of Tomahawks to Ukraine.
