Axios reported the information.Trump and Zelenskyy will reportedly meet to discuss sending powerful long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, as some details can’t be handled over the phone.A White House official confirmed the meeting will take place.Zelenskyy confirmed in a Monday post on X that he will discuss "a series of steps that I intend to propose" with Trump.A Ukrainian delegation has left for the U.S., Zelenskyy said, noting “several other important meetings” with defense firms and possibly lawmakers. He added he would meet energy companies, as proposed by Trump, due to ongoing threats. The visit will focus on air defense and Ukraine’s long-range capabilities.Trump said Sunday that he and Zelenskyy discussed the U.S. supplying Ukraine with Tomahawks and more Patriot systems. Zelenskyy believes extra firepower could push Putin to negotiate. Trump added he "might have to speak to Russia" about the Tomahawks."Do they want to have Tomahawks going in their direction? I don't think so. I told that to President Zelenskyy, because Tomahawks are a new step of aggression. I might say, “Look, if this war is not gonna get settled, I may send them Tomahawks.” Russia doesn't need that. I think it is appropriate to bring that up," Trump said.According to Axios, the long-range missiles would give Ukraine the ability to target far into the Russian mainland, including Moscow.The Kremlin expressed concern Sunday over Ukraine receiving Tomahawks, as some can carry nuclear warheads. Putin said their use would require U.S. personnel and could severely damage U.S.-Russia relations.Zelenskyy is set to arrive in the U.S. Thursday, with his chief of staff Andriy Yermak arriving Monday night to prepare.
