Andriy Yermak, the head of the President's Office, reported this on his Telegram channel. The young man was a child when Russia seized Crimea — he was only 11 years old. Since then, he lived under constant pressure from the occupation authorities, who persecuted any manifestations of Ukrainian identity.Last year, they began forcing him into service in the Russian Armed Forces. First, they summoned him to a so-called medical commission, and then handed him a draft notice. Russian police repeatedly came to his home, conducted interrogations, imposed fines, and forced him to sign a "pledge not to leave."To be able to financially support his family and avoid mobilization, the young man was forced to work unofficially. Eventually, he managed to escape from occupation thanks to a friend who reached out for help to the Ukrainian Network for Children's Rights. Volunteers organized a complex but successful rescue operation."Today the young man is already safe. He doesn't hide his emotions when he sees the Ukrainian flag for the first time in nine years, hears his native language, and can speak it freely. Grateful to our partners, the Ukrainian Network for Children's Rights, for their help in the rescue. We are fulfilling the President's task - to bring all Ukrainian children home," Yermak concluded. On October 9, Ukraine managed to return a group of 23 children and teenagers from temporarily occupied territories within the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
