Details: "We expect problems with electricity. After one or two attacks, we may need to import power. We always use this option in winter, and it remains available to us," Zelenskyy said.
He added that Ukraine currently faces no problems with gas supply – the challenge lies in securing enough funds for procurement.
Quote: "There are partners ready to provide gas without immediate payment requirements, in particular, Norway and EU countries, as well as suppliers from the Middle East, whom we relied on last winter. The main task now is to secure financing, and we believe it will be found."
Background:
- On the night of 9-10 October, Russian forces launched a large-scale strike on Ukraine's energy system, causing emergency power outages across the country.
- In recent weeks, Russian forces have changed their tactics for striking Ukrainian energy facilities, focusing not on the entire Ukrainian power system but on specific elements in individual regions.
