Our response is to strengthen our air defense,” Putin said when commenting on the issue of Tomahawks and possible attacks on the Russian capital.The Kremlin leader also claimed that Russia would introduce “new types of weapons,” though he provided no specifics. In addition, Putin issued fresh nuclear threats, warning that “Russia will respond in kind if some countries decide to conduct real tests of nuclear weapons.”His comments followed Donald Trump’s October 6 announcement that he had allegedly approved the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, a move Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov described as “a serious escalation.”
