An Air Force reserve officer and deputy CEO of an EW-equipment manufacturer, Anatoliy Khrapchynskyi, said on Espreso.“We understand what a ‘drone wall’ should look like. Does Europe understand it? On the fourth year of the war they still are not ready for this threat. Again, if they form the ‘drone wall’ according to the classic air-defense system, where the main protection is built around strategic sites and the flanks from which threats may come, then it will be ineffective. For example, in Frankfurt there is a DJI shop where you can buy a drone, reprogram it and carry out an attack on the spot. If before, to organize an attack like on September 11, 2001, you had to hijack an aircraft, now you just need to go to a shop, buy parts and assemble a device that can strike any target,” Khrapchynskyi explained.Read also Europe and drone wall: Vague idea hindered by bureaucracy and indifferenceThe expert stressed that to protect Europe from Russian attacks, the “drone wall” must primarily be built in Ukraine. Only this way can Europe defend itself from terrorist attacks by Russia.“Therefore, it is worth stressing that the ‘drone wall’ project looks different from the Ukrainian side. How this project will look for Europeans we will see in time. However, recall how Europe tried to build a single aircraft. It hardly worked out — there is a French aircraft and there is a European aircraft. That is why, before talking about a ‘drone wall’ in Europe, we should talk about a project that will first and foremost be built in Ukraine,” he added.
