Syrskyi: 180 sq. km liberated, 213 sq. km cleared in Dobropillia counteroffensive

He shared the update on his Telegram channel.Oleksandr Syrskyi held a meeting with senior commanders regarding the Dobropillia counteroffensive operation in the Donetsk region.“I heard reports on the current situation and the implementation of previously defined tasks. I spoke with unit commanders conducting counter-sabotage actions aimed at detecting and destroying enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups, as well as isolated Russian units trapped in encirclement,” the statement said.Despite continuous counterattacks by Russian forces, Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue offensive actions in certain areas. During the operation, 180.8 sq. km of Donetsk region were liberated, and another 212.9 sq. km were cleared of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.Syrskyi said he identified the key issues and needs of the offensive grouping and issued the necessary orders. “Counter-sabotage measures will continue. The defense will remain active,” he stressed.He added that measures are currently underway to prevent Russian advances in the Pokrovsk direction and to improve logistics, as well as protect roads and critical infrastructure.On September 26, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that during the Dobropillia counteroffensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine inflicted over 3,000 personnel losses on Russian forces, most of them irreversible.
