Quote: "The Russians continue striking to cut off transport links with frontline territories, including Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts. They are targeting key routes and also trying to block reserve ones."
Details: Pertsovskyi said that passengers travelling to Sumy, Konotop, Shostka and other cities in the region will be transported by bus transfers, currently operating at a safe distance from the affected areas.
"We are working with Sumy and Chernihiv oblast military administrations and the mayors of Konotop, Shostka and Nizhyn to quickly organise transfers," he added.
Background:
- Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced bypass routes due to the threat of Russian attacks on certain railway sections leading to Sumy Oblast.
- On 8 October, following Russian attacks on Sumy Oblast, train movement towards Nizhyn continued using reserve locomotives, while some trains were redirected along alternative routes.
