An European Pravda correspondent reported the information from Strasbourg.Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) believe that Russian aircraft and drones can be shot down if they violate the airspace of EU states.469 MEPs voted for the resolution, 97 were against, and 38 abstained."The European Parliament... encourages any initiative that enables the EU and its Member States to take coordinated, united and proportionate action against all violations of their airspace, including shooting down airborne threats," the resolution states. Therefore, MEPs welcome the concept of an EU "drone wall" and the Eastern Flank Watch initiative. The European Parliament emphasizes that Russia's diversionary and hybrid actions against the EU can be qualified as "state-sponsored terrorism," even if these actions do not reach the threshold of an armed attack.MEPs also call on the Council of the EU and the European Commission to "increase the effectiveness and impact of sanctions against Russia," and to extend sanctions to other states that facilitate Russia's actions, particularly Belarus, Iran, and North Korea.Furthermore, the European Parliament demands the imposition of sanctions on Chinese companies that supply Russia with dual-use goods and military products necessary for the production of drones and missiles.
