Details: The award ceremony took place on 8 October in Washington.
Musaieva was recognised for her "courageous and unwavering reporting on Ukraine's struggle for freedom".
Quote from CEPA: "Sevgil's commitment to journalism not only informs the public but also amplifies the voices of those affected by the ongoing, brutal war. This award also pays tribute to all the heroic journalists on the frontlines of Russia's war against Ukraine, whose dedication to uncovering the truth inspires us all."
More details: In her speech, Musaieva highlighted the daily struggle of Ukrainians to defend democracy and remembered journalist Viktoriia Roshchina, who died in Russian detention.

Quote from Musaieva: "Democracy is not given once and forever. It doesn't exist by itself. Democracy is daily work. A daily act of responsibility, of love, of support, of solidarity. A daily reminder of what truly matters – even when there are so many reasons to forget.
Because democracy is not born in a day, and it does not die in a moment. It lives as long as we are willing to carry it with us – like a simple symbol of love, a simple symbol of care – like that handkerchief that is always near. And at the same time – as greatest duty of our generation."
More details: Rudenko received her award for her "steadfast dedication to advancing independent journalism amidst Russia's invasion".
Quote from CEPA: "Olha's efforts have not only illuminated the realities of the ongoing war but have also reinforced the importance of free and independent media in times of crisis. This award also pays tribute to all the heroic journalists who continue to report in the face of adversity."
Other CEPA awards recipients include:
- Businessman and philanthropist Howard G. Buffett – Impact Award for his support for critical humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
