Major Volodymyr Fokin, deputy commander and head of logistics of Ukraine's 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, shared the information on Espreso TV.“If we look at the northern flank of the 3rd Brigade, the Russians reached the left bank of the Oskil River some time ago, have entrenched there, and hold a defense, which significantly worsens our logistical capabilities. On the right flank, the southern part of the 3rd Brigade’s area of responsibility, Russian troops are concentrating their main efforts in the directions of Karpivka, Drobysheve, and Shandryholove. The Russians are transferring reserves, reinforcing, and deploying additional regiments and brigades along the axes of their main strike. It should also be noted that the Russians are actively saturating the sectors of their main strike with additional UAV units of various numbers and functions. These include logistics drones and strike UAVs, such as FPV drones, Mavic drones with payload drops, and long-range attack wings,” he said.Volodymyr Fokin noted that along the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade’s sector, Russian troops are also trying to strengthen their units, using reserves in the form of personnel who were recently mobilized.“Or they volunteered under pressure to sign contracts with the Russian Armed Forces, and the Russians are also moving other units in. In my view, as I said earlier, Russia’s main efforts are now focused on Karpivka, Drobysheve and Shandryholove. Russian forces are trying to break into the Sviatohirsk agglomeration — there is a large forested area there, which will be much harder to dislodge them from later. Additionally, that would shorten the distance to the main logistical artery Kharkiv–Izium–Sloviansk–Kramatorsk. We already know that Russian FPVs sometimes reach that area and carry out FPV ambushes, which also worsens our logistics and our ability to supply units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” he said. The brigade’s deputy commander noted that the Ukrainian military do not expect Russia’s tempo to change, at least until the end of autumn.“Therefore, I think that after the summer offensive campaign, we are now entering the autumn campaign. What we see now is only an increase: an increase in the number of strikes, an increase in strikes using different types of UAVs, increased aviation activity, and guided bombs of various sizes; accordingly, the intensity of the Russian artillery fire is increasing, and the number of personnel used for assault actions is growing. So we expect the Russian tempo to remain unchanged, at least until the end of autumn. It should also be noted that the Third Army Corps’ sector of responsibility currently covers roughly 150 kilometers. Compared with the entire contact line, our sector now ranks second in terms of Russian activity,” Fokin added.
