This was reported by Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi during a regular meeting on the development of unmanned systems, held on October 7.Syrskyi emphasized that Ukraine must compensate for Russia’s advantage in manpower with quality, technology, and skill.“Given the Russian aggressor's significant superiority in personnel, unmanned systems are our strong argument for deterring the enemy and destroying them on the battlefield,” he said.According to the report:66,500 targets were hit (up 10.8% compared to August);39,200 strikes were carried out by kamikaze drones;18,159 Russian troops were killed or wounded (up 23%);The number of missions involving robotic ground systems nearly doubled.Syrskyi also noted the growing effectiveness of FPV drone operations, which remain a decisive factor on the battlefield despite Russia’s attempts to reach parity.“The enemy is not standing still... We have no right to slow down,” officers at the meeting stressed, citing intelligence on Russia’s ongoing technical developments. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have already begun scaling up their unmanned systems forces and recruiting personnel for relevant units. During the meeting, unit commanders “from the field” shared their experience in using UAVs and ground-based robotic systems, as well as their organizational and innovative solutions. The meeting identified key priorities: further development of UAS units, optimization of their structure, strengthening coordination with infantry, and ensuring reliable logistical support for unmanned systems.“Unmanned systems have received and will continue to receive my priority support,” the leadership emphasized, thanking the “warriors of the Defense Forces' unmanned systems” for their contribution. On October 6, the Russian army lost 1,020 servicemen in the war against Ukraine, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.
