Anitta Hipper, the European Commission’s lead foreign affairs spokesperson, told journalists in Brussels on October 6, European Pravda reports. The EU does not consider that Babiš’s election victory in the Czech Republic will affect the implementation of Kallas’s initiative to deliver 2 billion munitions to Ukraine in 2025. Hipper said that High Representative Kaja Kallas was maintaining contact with all member states on the issue, as the goal was to support them and encourage increased assistance to Ukraine, particularly in the procurement of ammunition. She recalled that regarding Kallas’s initiative to provide Ukraine with 2 million rounds of ammunition, around 80% of the planned target had been achieved. The spokesperson added that the EU Foreign Affairs Council would meet in its defense configuration the following week, on Wednesday, October 15, which would provide an opportunity to continue discussions on the matter. The new head of the Czech government will once again be the anti-European politician and pro-Russian billionaire, owner of the Agrofert corporation, Andrej Babiš, who already held this position from 2017-2021.
