Espreso correspondent Kateryna Halko reported the information.“This European future is shared by both Ukraine and Moldova. This is our clear position, which has the support of our partners. We have taken note of the initiative of some members of parliament. I would like to point out that decisions or documents adopted by the European Parliament are of a recommendatory nature. The European Union has an official position regarding the shared path of both Moldova and Ukraine toward EU membership,” reads the statement by Andrii Sybiha.The Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasized that the opening of clusters should also take place together, jointly and in sync.In April, European Commissioner Marta Kos stated that Brussels wants to separate Ukraine and Moldova as early as June this year.Later that same month, the European Commission stated that it would neither initiate nor demand a separation of the accession negotiations for Ukraine and Moldova. EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Maternova said the same.In August, Politico reported that the EU is considering giving Moldova a significant step forward in its path to membership - placing it ahead of Ukraine for the first time.On September 30, it was reported that the European Union is preparing to take technical steps to bring Ukraine and Moldova into the bloc, despite Hungary’s ongoing blockage of the accession negotiations.
