Protesters storm president's residence in Tbilisi, clashes ensued

A large anti-government demonstration in Tbilisi has turned into clashes with security forces after a group of protesters tried to enter the president's residence.

Details: At a rally in central Tbilisi, a declaration was read out stating that the Georgian Dream government has "lost its legitimacy".

Quote from the declaration: "The National Assembly declares a peaceful transition period that will ensure a peaceful transfer of power, the liberation of democratic institutions, the immediate resumption of dialogue on EU accession and the protection of peace and security in the country."
More details: Shortly afterwards, several dozen people went to the presidential residence on Antoneli Street and broke into the courtyard. Special forces emerged from the building and deployed tear gas.
Water cannons were also used against protesters near the residence, who responded by throwing stones.
Shortly before that, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement that the action had gone beyond the law and that the security forces would begin to "take appropriate measures".
Background: Municipal elections have just ended in Georgia, and most opposition parties refused to participate.
