China has major advantage in recruitment for intelligence operations – former CIA officer Goff
Former CIA special operations chief Ralph Goff shared his opinions in an interview with Anton Borkovskyi, host of the Studio West program, on Espreso TV.“Chinese special forces have enormous resources. China is a wealthy country, and the Communist Party has decided to allocate vast sums to its special services, and we can see the results,” Goff said.He noted that language proficiency and the large Chinese diaspora in the U.S. provide Beijing with unique recruitment opportunities.“There are millions more Chinese citizens who speak college-level English than there are Americans who speak college-level Chinese. Even with the large Chinese diaspora in the United States, China has a huge advantage simply in its ability to dispatch people who speak English fluently. This makes their services extremely capable and very well resourced,” Goff explained. The former CIA officer also stressed that Russia is increasingly turning into a junior partner of China, drifting into a subordinate relationship.Earlier reports indicated that Beijing has been providing Moscow with satellite data used in planning missile strikes on Ukrainian territory, including against facilities belonging to foreign investors.
