Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of Ukraine's 429th “Achilles” Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment, shared the information on Espreso TV.“Very difficult and heavy fighting continues in Kupiansk. In Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, the Russian troops have made no progress, and Ukrainian units are holding the defense. There are attempts by the enemy to infiltrate between our combat formations into the rear. These groups are constantly being detected and destroyed. Overall, the situation on the left bank of Kupiansk and in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi is currently quite favorable for the Ukrainian Defense Forces,” Fedorenko said. The commander emphasized that the density of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups in Kupiansk is very high. However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are able to detect and destroy them in time.“In the city of Kupiansk itself, street fighting continues with enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups. It cannot be said that Russian regular forces have occupied any areas of the city without the presence of Ukrainian Defense units. However, the density of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the city is quite high. It is also worth noting that we managed to carry out operations and damage the gas pipeline again. As a result, the enemy is once again forced to cross the Oskil River to resupply their bridgehead on the right bank. This is open terrain, which makes it easier to detect and destroy the enemy. Consequently, the intensity of fighting on the right bank of the Oskil River has decreased. Overall, the situation in this direction is very tense. I must note that the enemy understands the goal of capturing Kupiansk both politically and for logistical purposes,” he added.Ukrainian forces disabled an underground pipe near Kupiansk that Russian troops were using for movement. The route is currently clear of any enemy activity.
