The Guardian reported the information.Prince Harry told reporters that during his visit to the memorial, he wanted to find a spot away from everyone to lay a wreath.“My God it’s like a maze in there. I didn’t appreciate how far back it went. Honestly, it is one of the saddest things I have ever seen. But also one of the most beautiful,” he said. The prince also suggested that the war could and should have been avoided. The outlet notes that after this visit, the Briton disappeared: his car drove away from the group for about an hour. Upon returning, Harry was silent. The Guardian speculates that he went to meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, although neither confirmed it.The Guardian noted that diplomatic circles had discussed the Ukrainian leader’s desire to meet the prince, but the UK government indicated it would be better if he did not.“The theory was that giving the rebel royal (Prince Harry) a platform might not be smart politics on a day that Britain’s new foreign secretary, Yvette Cooper, was also in town,” the article explained. On September 12, Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv with representatives of the Invictus Games Foundation, which supports rehabilitation of Ukrainian veterans through sport. He also met with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
