Finnish president meets Zelenskyy in Kyiv to discuss security cooperation, support for Ukraine

Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, reported that, together with Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, he met Finnish President Alexander Stubb at the start of his visit to Ukraine.“At the center of today’s talks between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Finnish leader are security projects, European integration, infrastructure investments, and security guarantees for our country. We will also discuss increasing pressure on Russia, sanctions, and the importance of lasting peace,” the statement said.Yermak added that Ukraine is grateful for Finland’s consistent and firm support, and personally to President Stubb.
Later, Stubb met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Together, they honored Ukrainian defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine at the Wall of Memory in Kyiv.“With gratitude and respect, we honor the memory of every fallen warrior. Eternal and bright remembrance to all those who were killed defending our independence and our people,” Zelenskyy added.
On July 31, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met in Finland with President Alexander Stubb and Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen. During the Helsinki +50 conference, the OSCE called for holding Russia accountable for its war against Ukraine.
