Pavlo Lakiychuk, head of security programs at the Strategy XXI Global Studies Center and a captain first rank of the Ukrainian Navy reserve, shared his opinions with Espreso TV.“I may be wrong, of course, but in my subjective opinion, the strike on the Cabinet of Ministers building may be linked to Ukraine's Military Intelligence Day. It looks like a kind of ‘greeting’ to our intelligence soldiers,” Lakiychuk said.He emphasized that Ukrainian drones operated by the SBU and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR) have been inflicting serious damage on Russia’s oil refining sector and industry. “In response, they actually blackmail us — they strike civilian cities and infrastructure,” Lakiychuk added. The expert stressed that Russia unleashed an exceptionally large-scale strike against Ukraine.“The Russians are trying to demonstrate their power. The fact that their drone was able to fly to the most protected district in Kyiv is a demonstration of this. The number of weapons used in tonight's attack is simply incredible. A friend of mine, who is a journalist and now an air defense officer, said that their regiment shot down 150 Shahed drones tonight. In addition to the UAVs, there were ballistic and cruise missiles,” he noted. On the evening of September 6, Russian forces launched a massive wave of drones and ballistic missiles at Ukrainian territory. Overnight, Kyiv came under attack, leaving casualties and injuries, with debris striking the Cabinet of Ministers building. Kryvyi Rih was also hit by ballistic missiles, resulting in deaths. Drone strikes damaged infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions.
