During the court hearing, he denied the charges and refused extradition to Germany.On August 28, ARD, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and Zeit reported in a joint investigation that German law enforcement believes it has identified all members of the sabotage group responsible for blowing up the Nord Stream pipeline, and all of them are Ukrainian citizens.
